Mend is a healthtech/fintech platform that enables patients in Mexico to finance private elective medical procedures through accessible monthly payments, while helping doctors increase treatment conversion. The platform combines a marketplace of affiliated doctors with a fully digital medical credit engine, allowing patients to find specialists, understand pricing, and obtain financing in minutes, 100% online.
By enabling financing at the point of care, Mend allows doctors to receive full payment for procedures immediately while eliminating collection risk, and gives patients access to private healthcare without large upfront payments. Their mission is to reduce financial barriers to private healthcare and make high-quality medical care more accessible in Mexico.
Founded by Luis Mario Rodríguez and Juan Pablo Rodríguez. Luis Mario previously worked as a Senior Associate at BOCEL Private Equity, where he gained experience in complex financial modeling and debt structuring, skills that have been critical in building Mend’s credit infrastructure and establishing partnerships with over 1,000 doctors. Juan Pablo is an ITAM graduate with additional academic training at MIT, and leads Mend’s operations and financial design, including credit risk management and portfolio analysis, supporting the company’s disciplined growth in medical financing.
